The Department Enery, Mines, Industry Regulation and safety plays a crucial role in overseeing retirement village living for older Western Australians through it's Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection Group. This group is responsible for administering and enforcing the Retirement Villages Act 1992, the Retirement Villages Regulations 1992, and the Fair Trading (Retirement Villages Interim Code) Regulations, which collectively form the legislative framework governing retirement villages in Western Australia.
