The quarterly newsletter sent directly to

members with an email address. The

newsletter is always available on the

nfluencing and Advocacy
Our Committee influences and advocates for

changes to Government policy, and to

industry positions, through various channels

to advance and protect the rights and

interests of all retirement community

residents.

We collaborate closely with operators and

village management training providers to

convey a residents’ perspective on a range

of matters identified by our Committee.

Providing Information and Education

Our website features a collection of freely

available articles for individuals residing in,

transitioning from, or considering moving

into a retirement community.

We conduct face-to-face meetings to keep

Members informed on important topics,

including community constitutions, resident

committees, and changes to retirement

community regulations.

ASSISTING AND

SUPPORTING MEMBERS

Village Retirement WA (WARVRA), assists

and supports individuals with issues

concerning their community operator under

the Retirement Villages Act 1992 or their

residency contract.

As needed, we offer guidance and support

to financial members or their families

regarding community exit costs and

entitlements when members leave their

community.

Members can contact us at any time with

general inquiries about retirement

community matters. Quarterly newsletters

are emailed to all members on topics

relevant to retirement village living.

epresenting Residents’ Interests
Our Council, and members of the Legislation

& Advocacy Committee, provide direct

resident-centred input to Government about

proposed changes to policy relating to

retirement communities.
